Testimonials

“I wanted to let you know very appreciative I am of your wonderful skill and kind care. I may not have studied the shape of my nose before, but I’m certainly most grateful that, as well as removing two rather prominent BCCs, you have restored it to a normal look with your amazing ‘invisible mending. Thank you so much.” – [Celia from Leeds, aged 79]

“Just over two years ago I underwent surgery to remove skin cancer on the front of my nose, the cancer was removed but I unfortunately was left with a deep unsightly scar. Having pursued a number of avenues I was eventually referred to Dr Hussain who agreed to revise the scar and perform a surgical ‘flap’ procedure to improve the appearance of my nose.

The result was outstanding. I can honestly say Dr Hussain’s professional and very courteous approach is of the highest standard and at all times he was there when I needed support. He has changed my life immeasurably as my confidence on social occasions has now been restored following the successful surgery he performed.

I would sincerely like to thank Dr Hussain for the excellent surgery he performed and the kindness and understanding he always gave me. I definitely would recommend Dr Hussain, unreservedly.” – [Sue from Wakefield, aged 58]

“I would strongly recommend Dr Walayat Hussain to anybody in need of dermatological surgery or treatment. Before meeting Dr Hussain I had had a difficult and traumatic time with a basal cell carcinoma on my nose that had developed during my mid-thirties. Unfortunately I had been left with a very poor cosmetic result after surgery performed by a different doctor.

Dr Hussain performed Mohs Micrographic Surgery. This is a specific and specialist technique that ensures complete removal of the cancer whilst preserving as much healthy tissue as possible – something that is important on a nose where there isn’t that much to lose in the first place! After the Mohs surgery Dr Hussain very carefully and skilfully reconstructed my nose and he has left me with a very good cosmetic result and one that I honestly doubt many would have been able to achieve.

Not only is Dr Hussain a very skilled dermatological surgeon in my opinion, but he is also ‘human’. This may sound a little odd but in my experience it is a quality that is so often sadly lacking these days. I believe that Dr Hussain genuinely cares about his patients and somehow manages perfectly the delicate balance between a personal approach and absolute professionalism. Dr Hussain always took the time to listen to me and to make me feel at ease and I have complete confidence in him. If any of my family or friends were in need of dermatological surgery or treatment, then I would most definitely urge them to go to Dr Hussain for help”. – [Caroline from Liverpool, aged 38]

“Discovering you have a Basal Cell Carcinoma comes as a big shock and is very worrying, particularly when it is on the face. Following my first consultation with Dr Hussain my fears and worries significantly reduced. He was patient, understanding, reassuring and gave me all the facts and confidence to believe the results of my treatment would be the best possible. During the surgery Dr Hussain and his team were fantastic and I could not have imagined that the procedure could have been so well handled and the trauma so reduced with their kind and confident attitude.

Three months on and the scar on my nose is barely noticeable. I could not have hoped or wished for a better result in such a short time. I am of the opinion that Dr Hussain is at the very top of his profession both technically and professionally.” – [Diane from Leeds, aged 53]

“I consider myself fortunate to have been placed on Dr. Hussain’s list. From the outset, in the preoperation assessment, his sympathetic patient manner and his clear and reassuring explanation of the procedure involved instilled every confidence in his professional skill, which is considerable. The two-part operation was conducted as painlessly as possible, with calm efficiency, in a relaxed environment aided by a ready sense of humour. It was obvious that Dr. Hussain has a good professional rapport with his theatre staff, as with his patients. The aftercare and advice, anticipating and responding to queries, could not be faulted; the fact that nine months on the operation site is virtually scar-free is a tribute to the care taken in the placing of the incision and the suture. Dr. Hussain is an exemplary hospital doctor and surgeon and I trust he is involved in the education and training of medical students – he must be a great teacher.” – [Patricia from Leeds, aged 63]

“In December, I was a patient of Dr Hussain. I had a large basal cell carcinoma on my face, close to my nose. I am very much indebted to Dr Hussain, for his amazing surgical skills in removing the growth with Mohs surgery and restoring my face with virtually no scarring visible. Dr Hussain is a very caring and professional person and I count myself very fortunate to have had such a skilled surgeon operate on me.” – [Des from New Plymouth, New Zealand, aged 66]

“Recently after having a skin check carried out by Dr Hussain, biopsies were done on my lower right leg and left arm, which revealed the presence of a squamous cell carcinoma on my leg and a basal cell carcinoma on my arm. The surgery that Dr Hussain performed on my leg and arm was very successful and I have been left with very little evidence to show that I had these skin cancers. Due to the fact that I have Parkinsons, I was very apprehensive about the surgery, however Dr Hussain’s very caring manner gave me confidence to cope. Thank you Dr Hussain for doing a great job.” – [Jan from Taranaki, New Zealand, aged 66]

“I am THRILLED with the result of my upper lid blepharoplasty recently performed by Dr Wal Hussain. ‘Before and after’ photos show a remarkable improvement, both side and front views – with a fresher, more youthful appearance but still a completely ‘natural’ look. I love the result! The procedure was pain-free and my recovery speedy and with minimal discomfort. Dr Hussain is a wonderful, caring doctor and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone considering a blepharoplasty procedure.” – [Lois from Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, aged 41]

“I would like to express my sincere thanks to Dr. Walayat Hussain whom whilst working from the Skin Centre in Tauranga, New Zealand, was my acting physician/surgeon for the past four years, and who acted professionally and diligently in his position as same. Dr. Hussain diagnosed seven basil cell carcinomas together with one superficial melanoma and removed all via both standard and MOH’s surgical procedures with 100% accuracy and resultant prognosis. The past two six monthly check-ups have provided me with absolute delight, not having any further signs or any concerns for the attending. A testament I believe to Dr. Hussains thoroughness and professionalism in diagnosis and treatment.

I would like to add that the results have certainly exceeded my expectations. The facial scars are barely noticeable; in fact I am unable to identify one on my right check below my ear. His accuracy is beyond reproach. Once again I would like to thank Dr. Hussain for a job well done. Personally I could not wish for a better result.” – [Dean from Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, aged 44]

“Colleen, myself and my family would just like to say a huge big thank you for the support you have given me over the last eighteen months. There has been many a time when I have felt quite down. I have had numerous Mohs surgeries on my face (7 in total so far) and very extensive skin grafts which Dr Hussain performed. Without the support of you as my Specialist/Doctor/New Best Friend!! , most importantly a very good MATE, I would like to say once again a very big thank you. It has and still is a very stressfull process and you made it alot easier.” – [Rex from Paeroa, New Zealand, aged 77]

“Walayat was my Skin Specialist at the Skin Centre in Tauranga, New Zealand. He diagnosed and removed surgically, two Squamous Cell Carcinomas three months apart from each other. I have no visible scars to ‘show’ even though the first on my front thigh was the width of my hand, the other, being on my front ankle and three fingers wide. His stitchery is beautiful.

Wal made my visits to the Skin Centre ‘enjoyable’ considering my reason for being there. He was always thoroughly professional and relaxed in manner. I would, most certainly, recommend him to any, and everybody, for skin checks and all further skin health requirements.

Thank you Walayat, for being there for me when I needed you. All you other lucky people to have Walayat, need not worry. You will all be in good hands.” – [Raewyn from Tauranga, New Zealand, aged 71]
